DAYTON — By fall of 2022 WebstaurantStore, a restaurant supply company, plans to have more than 900,000 square feet of space at its Dayton distribution center. It will be the largest project of its type in Lyon County.

Groundwork has already begun on the 620,000-square-foot building which will be located across the street from WebstaurantStore’s original and recently expanded building. The company said it has seen continuous growth since it launched in 2004. It opened the Lyon County distribution facility in 2013 as its only West Coast location.

Spearheading a construction project of this size and at this time has proven challenging. The company’s officials said construction and material costs escalate daily due to economic and supply chain complications.

“Northern Nevada and Lyon County have proven to be an ideal location for our business,” said Scott Stevens, the company’s western director of operations. “With the support of Miles Construction and their construction management expertise, they have been invaluable in helping us navigate our builds and supporting us in our work with Lyon County. We’re proud to invest back into this community and continue to see potential down the road.”

Jobs at the distribution center pay $20 or more and include benefits. Company officials didn’t say how many new jobs would be available following the expansion.
