ELY–At-home COVID-19 tests ordered by the state have begun to arrive, with the first delivery made to Ely on Thursday.
Gov. Steve Sisolak in January said the state had ordered more than 500,000 at-home rapid tests to meet demand in the state and improve access. The tests are free for residents and are being distributed to communities based on need.
Free tests are also available through the federal government in a partnership with the U.S. Postal Service.
The at-home tests in Ely were delivered to the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services office. In other communities the governor said they’d be using community center, fire stations and other resources to distribute the tests.
