WINNEMUCCA – The BLM Humboldt River Field Office (HRFO) will restore access to the Canyon Recreation Area (WCRA) beginning Tuesday, June 30.
The 130-acre site, which is approximately 3 miles east of Winnemucca, will reopen for all uses including day use and overnight camping.
In reopening the site, the BLM will continue to follow guidance from the CDC to ensure public and employee spaces are safe and clean for visitors, employees, partners and volunteers.
It’s also sharing CDC guidance to help people recreating on public lands prevent the spread of infectious diseases will work to ensure that visitors adhere to CDC guidance for mitigating risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19. The BLM advises that when recreating, the public should follow local area health orders including Governor Sisolak’s standards for individuals, businesses and employers, practice Leave No Trace principles, practice social distancing and avoid high-risk outdoor activities.
