LAS VEGAS — This week, the Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus launched a grocery delivery initiative in partnership with La Bonita Supermarkets, Dr. Corona Partida, Mi Familia Vota, Puente Las Vegas, and the United Way of Southern Nevada. Beginning Thursday, April 16, the initiative provides grocery delivery to the homes of community members who are quarantined or who have tested positive for COVID-19.
“I want to thank Assemblywoman Torres, NHLC COVID-19 Task Force, and our great partners for making this initiative a reality. Special thanks to the Western States Petroleum Association for this generous contribution to help launch this initiative, and thank you to Edith Duarte with Strategies 360 for making this connection,” said Edgar Flores, Chair of the NHLC. “It is important to look after our most vulnerable, this includes members of our community who are under quarantine and are unable to go to the supermarket.”
“It is vital that our community come together to ensure that patients have the support they need to stay at home. Staying at home is the only way we are guaranteed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we hope to do our part to take care of our fellow Nevadans,” said Guy Girardin, President, Puentes Las Vegas.

El Grupo de Trabajo NHLC COVID-19 crea la Iniciativa de entrega de alimentos para ayudar a los Nevadenses positivos de COVID-19
LAS VEGAS – Esta semana, El Caucus Legislativo Hispano de Nevada lanza una iniciativa de entrega de alimento en asociación con los supermercados La Bonita, Dr. Jose Maria Partida Corona, Mi Familia Vota, Puente Las Vegas y United Way of Southern Nevada. El programa entregará cajas de alimentos a los miembros de la comunidad que han dado positivo a COVID-19 y a los que se encuentran en cuarentena.
Edgar Flores, presidente del Comité Legislativo Hispano de Nevada, dijo: “Quiero agradecer a la Asambleísta Torres, El Grupo de Trabajo COVID-19 de NHLC, y a nuestros colaboradores por hacer realidad esta iniciativa. El centro de Apoyo al Paciente COVID-19 proporcionará controles de bienestar regulares a pacientes para asegurarse que las familias tengan la capacidad de quedarse en casa.
